The A9 dualling programme is a large, complex project designed to upgrade 80 miles (129 kilometres) of road from single to dual carriageway.
Transport Scotland’s £3 billion programme, work on which started in September 2016, aims to deliver economic growth through improved safety, reliability and quicker journey times. The Scottish Government has committed to completing all work by 2025 – an ambitious deadline for a project of this size and complexity, which involves upgrading 12 different sections of the A9.
Benchmark were appointed to prepare and roll out cost estimating frameworks, guidelines and templates across multiple consultants working on the programme’s 12 individual sections.
Our involvement is ensuring consistency and the spread of estimating best practice across the whole project.
